can any one explain this vs on Quran "But when the forbidden 4 months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. (Quran, 9:5). ..I was just curious about how came the religion Islam is being called a religion of peace after seeing this vs on quran and it seems contrary that this vs have said "Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful" after already saying "fight and slay ..the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them.."
Jul 23, 2021I’m a little rusty on my Quran studies so I’m open to anyone correcting me if I’m wrong but i think this verse talks about war time , there was a ceasefire treaty b/n the pagans and the muslims but the pagans violated the treaty and attacked the muslims This verse is commanding the muslims not to wage war during the holy 4 months ( since it’s forbidden to wage wars in those months ) and instead to wait till the months end and then to go out and find and kill those who violated the treaty And if u’re wondering how allah is all forgiving and most merciful then just read the nxt couple of verses after this one ( reading just one verse out of a whole chapter is often misleading)
