Am i the only one here who thinks our government is diverting all of its responsibility to the citizens..like all am hearing is that the people aren't washing their hands they are not practicing social distancing..nd i know we as citizens have a role that we are not complaying with but so do they...i dont hear on the news how many ICU are being made available or if they are working on getting more ventilators to our hospitals...i dont hear how they plan to expand testing inorder to get ahead of the virus..all am seeing is a set up to blame everything on the people when shit gets terrible. Why aren't we asking those questions ?

Bro u are not hearing anything because u are not trying to the Ethiopian government is doing everything possible under our circumstances the college dorms are being converted to hospital beds this Means rn we have 30k plus rooms being ready if the mass infection occurs plus the testing centers are Abt to be built in every state in Ethiopia the money that is being collected now is going to be spent to buy masks body suits and oxygen ventilators for this rooms......trust me I am not pro Ethiopian government but o this virus they are fighting....the general population on the other hand is a whole different story

No dont get me wrong i hear all thats trying to be done and i do acknowledge that the best possible measure is prevention but i think we are way past prevention, the most affected city is addis and its not even on mandatory lockdown. And i fear the efforts to increase the number of beds will not help much unless they are accompanied with appropriate Medical equipments. The new testing facilities are actually the best measure they have taken so far because we have only tested a very small portion of the population i guessing the number of infected is many times higher than whats being reported. Thats why i fear when the need for large number of people to be hospitalized comes due...we will fail terribly. Not because we didnt wash our hands but because we failed to stop international flights on time... failed to lockdown our cities in time..failed to secure medical equipments and faild to provide a wide number of tests.

Because it's obviously better to prevent the disease than struggle t cntrl it. Our gov obviously can't supply the necessary ICU tools if the disease spreads kezih belay so there's not much they can do except warn us and give us the responsiblity

In one of the biggest hospital in Ethiopia and I can tell u we are doomed if the government dont start getting its shit together when this virus blows up in our country believe me when I say we would do shit for u cause there is nothing here prepared......dont be amazed when they say dorm and shit it has it's own kebed stuff too and for ventilators u can forget it we dont even have cylinders ready for oxygen One stat I'll live u with is there could be upto a million ppl just in Addis that might require oxygen........so just tell me how the government is ready???

Our health care system is one of the worst in the world. And we don't have adequate supportive treatments like ventilators here, and the government isn't doing anything strict just zim bilo meglecha after meglecha mestet. Putting everyone on lockdown should be done, I got out the day before yesterday to buy groceries ena people are ende dirow, taxis are full of people, the roads are crowded minamin and if this continues things will be real bad after a while. They should strictly tell everyone to stay home and enforce it! Yegil businesses will most likely go bankrupt endeza kehone gin it's much better
