Jun 14, 2021I would also like to answer tye question about S.A and USA. USA wasn't colonized in the sense that Africa was colonized, unless you are talking about USA originally being taken from the Native Americans. The colonization in Africa was largely built upon the ideals of White supremacy, i.e Africans aren't people and therefore they deserve nor rights, no liberties and no self respect, where as the states were primarily inhabited by other white people which incidentally came from Europe where Britain is located. My point is that you can't really say that they were colonized the same way that Africans were and therefore your example fails. Secondly, we have S.A. Well, I shouldn't even be explaining how colonization has negatively affected S.A, A few google searches would do the trick. I am tired at this point, I implore you to read about the horrors of colonization before making such a bold statement.
Jun 12, 2021I don't think you know how colonisation works, even the name is indicatory of what it entails, when you are colonised, you have no country, no identity, you are simply a colony of some other powerful state. To put it simply colonisation entails the degradation of a culture, language, history and more importantly of the people that are in the colony and that will be born out of a colonial or post colonial regime. Colonialism and the neocolonial strategy can be attributed to the countless sufferings that are faced by millions of people around the world. Even if we ignore the direct consequences of colonialism like death, destruction, chaos and the like colonialism is still the cause of other unnoticed sociopolitical and cultural issues. Take beauty standards for example, the colonial mindest that has infected our minds and the brainwashing of Hollywood movies has forced us to think of clear and white/whiter skin, smooth hair, blue eyes and so forth to be the standard of beauty and it is evident that we do not possess those features and so we are tormented by self-hate(regarding race), inferiority complex,.... which inturn makes us better suited to be exploited by the beauty industry and other industries which offer us services that will make us better than we are or in other words better than our black race so as to be closer to the white race. Next up we have the number of Africans that have died while colonialism was in place, take congo for example- under the rule of king Leopold of Belgium millions of Congolese men, women and children have been massacred so as to please his thrist for power and minerals, there was even a practice whereby if the Congolese people of that time didn't complete their daily tasks their hands would be cut off so as to give incentive for the other workers. I can simply sum up all this to say that even you asking this question is the result of an inferiority complex that has been worked into the minds of our youth so as to continue the tradition and outlook of the better white race. You asking this question proves that colonization is a transgemerational evil that needs to be cured. You asking this question is also remarkably selfish since you are asking your father and your forefathers to lay down their dignity, self-respect, culture history and quite possibly their lives so as to satiate your narcissistic need for a few scraps off of the white mans table, you sir are a proper negroe if there ever was one. I would also like to ask you what could possibly be worth your father and forefathers proud lives?
