How many people have thought of suicide or have committed it under the age of 18 in Ethiopia and is there anything you want schools in Ethiopia could provide It's for class it's urgent if u have the statistics or even if u went through it
May 28, 2021A high school best friend of mine committed suicide. She was a nice girl, top scorer and all. I don't know what went wrong but on 18th of august 2017 she was found in her room with her wrist split open. I do recall that she was under severe bullying (both of us actually) and she ended up cracking eventually. I think schools ought to take good measures against bullying discrimination and stuff like that. It also would've helped had our schools integrated mental health in the curriculum and helped students with issues thoroughly by encouraging them to come forth and not just let them deal with whatever it is that they are going through by themselves.
May 28, 2021How many ppl thought of it, is difficult coz ppl do not tell they r thinkin or though of commiting suicide. But in my career as a Doctor I hv seen kids who hv tried to commit suicide. Some of the reasons r 1. Lower grades than expected (specially 12 graders) 2. Relationship stuffs (like when they fight with their partner) 3. Family issues (when there is repeated disagreements or fighting b/n parents) 4. Unwanted pregnancy So schools should 1. Council students that education is not the last n only possible achievement in life (it a lil bit contradicts with the purpose of schools) but they should council them failure is one part of life process but there is always a retrial. 2. Schools should council students on the time that they shoul start a relationship. 3. School teachers should watch the students' behavior n if the students r in a low mood they shoul ask if everything at home is okay. N they should prepare parent-teacher sessions n provide parental councilling. 4. School teachers should council students abt reproductive health. They should council them if at all they engage in sexual activities they shoul know how to prevent unwanted pregnancy n STDs.
