Selamta Nearly every Orthodox christian I meet tells me that Pentecostal (Protestant) christians are purely out to convert as much people as they can, all the while removing all scripture that doesn't suit their interpretation from the Bible. I really want to know, is that really the agenda of Protestant christians in Ethiopia? Do they want to extinguish Orthodox Christians? Or is it just paranoia from the Orthodox side?
May 17, 2021Actually people don't care. If you think about it people are not really caring so much about religion now these days. Not like they don't believe in God anymore but with all the things happening, the economic stress, the never stopping somebody died(not just locally, all over the world) news... people are just tired... they just want to eat and sleep and work and eat and sleep and so on... I used to be sensetive to these cases my self like when some Protestant brothers preach at the road or at the bus but now i came to a conclusion that as long as it doesn't affect my position in my religion people can do or say what ever they want. They can start to believe in stone if they want to. I JUST WANT PEACE
May 17, 2021My question is still, not how you feel about it, but their agenda, The preachers on the street?
May 17, 2021Actually the main misunderstanding is people think we preach "penteneten" when infact we only preach Christ. Pente yalhone yiferedebetal alalnm bekiristos yalamene new enji yalnew so I think sew wengel lemesbek hidden agenda alew bilo siyaseb new wedeneza conclusions migeba gin egna bible slazezen new mnsebkew degmom haymanoten sayhon yeteseqelelenen kiristosen new mnsebkew.
May 18, 2021“እንዲህም አላቸው፦ ወደ ዓለም ሁሉ ሂዱ ወንጌልንም ለፍጥረት ሁሉ ስበኩ።” — ማርቆስ 16፥15 This is our stance. We preach to all. Wede alem "hulu" lefitret "hulu" There is no any hidden agenda. we are commissioned by his word of God. Jesus said "go" and "preach ". We are against any habit or any personal behavior or any culture which doesn't meet with scriptures, we can not remove the scriptures itself.
May 17, 2021If you're a good Orthodox Christian, you don't need to worry about their agenda instead how you can save them from man made ideologies like that and help 'em know the way:Jesus Christ❤️
May 24, 2021Let me try to sit on the fence ande try to give you a non religious explanation. The orthodox church is as conservative as they come, and the protestant church goes against that merit and questions most of the practices, some of which have even become part of some aspects of ethiopian culture at the end of the day this results in conflict of interest and also preaching the gospel wherever and whenever is the norm with protestants and this sometimes feels invasive to the orthodox followers... As they are literally everywhere from the streets of megenagna to your local neighborhood so the orthodox ethiopians sometimes take it personally and feel like they are out to get them, that's what I think anyways.
May 18, 2021Well let's put it this way. First it's not like we gain anything from converting people malet you made it sound like there is some evil intention behind that or something. The only reason we would try to convert people is because we believe what we believe to be true. So let me put it this way we won't force you to convert but if what we say can convince you then well it did if it doesn't demo well it's your choice. Second I don't understand the allegations that we are taking out scripture that doesn't fit our interpretation mnamn. We use the same Bible that has been in use all over the world by Protestants for years. So I don't see how that allegation works when the fact is the Orthodox Church canonized most of the books we don't follow recently. Eski go back and look at the Orthodox Bible from Emperor Haileselase's time it's pretty much the same with the Bible we follow but with the additional books separate from the canonized books.

May 18, 2021I am orthodox my self and I think answering ur question would be hard cause we can't conclude about the whole from just a few groups. But yeah that seems like their agenda but I don't believe they r all the same although the problem isn't mostly in the persons it's on thier ideology
May 18, 2021Can i try to give answer? With respect
May 17, 2021Its is not a paranoia it fact Their aim to reform all old churches bu the theology of that crazy serial killer catholic monk martin Luther Even if you dont believe us they succeeded to mekfel on of our sister church into 2 the one found in india They have tried for hundred year They established tehadeso for this purpose atetntew new yemigebut Demo we dont blame 1 denomination of protestant We have this stand point on the 30000 denomination of protestant especially the British Anglican church They have funded them to destroy the early churches Well Jesus wasn't crucified 500 years ago and also not by that monk The church precedes everything
