I didn't want to use the word 'Simp' but fuck it. I learned that people don't Simp, because of the attractiveness or personality of the person they are simping for. What I observed is people simp out of the exposure effect and also as a result of trying to fit in(when a lot of people follow someone, you think that person is worth following and convince yourself they must be great, the crowd can't be wrong, you think.) Of course, both doesn't happen in the conscious level, therefore one doesn't notice it. If you followed the group for a while, you would know the girls with most followers(simps) are just meh, with some exception ofc. Yet since they are everywhere, people recognise them, and people generally like what they recognise, it gives them a sense of familiarity in a random world, as a result people create this image of them as attractive and worth following with all their heart. This is the exposure effect While the girls that are cool, smart, thoughtful and deserving of attention don't get any, since they participate less and only when needed, on topics they have full knowledge and experience on, rather than trying to be present everywhere at everytime, as a result people don't feel familiar with them, therefore they have less of a following(simps).
