You know It is very hard to identify love and addiction even for the older ppl. It is good that you hear the advice of your mother and appreciated. But the reason of breakups shouldn't only be the enforcement of your mom. You should try to consider why she said it, it is because she cares about you and she doesn't want seeing you failing from your passion. So, just try to see it in every direction. Are you sure that you know the meaning of love? Is really love means what we usually see or hear about? So, if you sure about this, this is stage 1. Then understand what your mom wants to say. "She avoids him or she avoids early love?". As my opinion, I don't support your relationship, don't support your breakup as well. Stay trusting each other until you know yourself and the day comes. But for now, BF GF things wouldn't be good. And also remember ur mom's advice.

When I met my current girlfriend we were in 8th grade we have been together since 9th grade and I have graduated and have a job now and I am almost 26 years old and we have been together ever since then and we are currently engaged and will get married as soon as things settle.... Her parents objected our relationship back in high school her mom even threatened me with the police and I understand since you are a girl your family might be overprotective for various reasons ... But that shouldn't stop you from loving but you must be very smart and careful about it because a lot can go wrong but from my experience never miss a chance at love because I have been with my fiancee for more than a decade and she means everything to me but we wouldn't be here if I gave up back then
