I'm not an econ major (yet) but I am a socialist and here's my perspective: Socialism is simply proposing for democracy in the workplace. The workers are the ones that add value to the product and so they are the rightful owners of the means of production. Theres a lot- and I mean a lot more to it but this is the basic thing. If you want to know more, I've made a YouTube playlist on the basics of what we socialists believe :) oh and obviously this doesnt substitute reading actual theory but not everyone has the time. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUkTm_nrNLhlSWs59sb0r3jn2KGvjWIAP

OP

Yeah but have you considered how capitalizm only benefits the rich and how there is so much labour bizbeza and how it creates classicism. Why in the heck are private business owers alowed to keep all profits . ( i get that you have to get back your initial investment + sum interest ) but shouldn't some part of the profit be distributed among the workers ( on top of their wages) . Another thing why aren't basics needs free/ cheap like food , water , health care and housing . Why is bottled water even a thing. And also why are there so many businesses selling the same thing with just different names . how is that alowed , why cant there be a single company for all things ( to avoid monopolistic tendencies there will be laws on price and etc..) , recently i just cant understand it
