If one is an evolutionist: There is no meaning to life. None at all. Our existence is beyond meaningless. But because of the fear of physical pain, we tend to not end our lives. Although, inert gas inhalation seems like a pretty good way to go. If one is a creationist: One must believe that this materialistic life, is indeed a test. A test with rules, "do"s and "don't do"s. Alternatively, like a bridge with various wholes, or an ocean with different storms. Basically a passage, that determines whether we are fit for our Creator or not. Problem is, there is not certain way of knowing which it is, one has to make a decision that one won't regret. But I can tell you this much, if God does exist, let us hope that Dante's depiction in The Inferno, Divine Comedy is correct, or so help us God.
