You know how people can be physically attracted to a person but not have any intention of building an emotional bond. I am the exact opposite. I am just emotionally connected to anyone I like but not in a sexual way because I simply don't feel those things at all. That leads me to being obsessed when I love someone when I date. And I was told my professionals that I am what's called Asexual, which is a different sexual identity. But honestly I am not buying it. I was like this my whole life so i really don't know what went wrong but i wanna fix it. Please help a sister out! Thanks in advance😊
Jan 25, 2020Figuring out their sexual identity takes a bit of work for some people. It might take years of experimentation, meeting new people & introspection to "discover"/performatively invent an identity you're comfortable with. You might be an asexual, demisexual... or even a homosexual. People don't get that sexual identity is a powerful aspect of yourself that compels you to behave in a certain way. It's not something that can be fixed (see the failure rates of conversion camps). But it might not be a matter of sexual identity. Maybe you haven't met the right person yet. That you don't feel sexual attraction to people with whom you have an emotional connection does not mean you're asexual. If you don't have sexual feelings at all + your mind and body are healthy (some disease states cause low libido), then you're asexual.
