Dec 28, 2019The basics slash lifestyle changes: - Cut down diary products, sugar, junk food, oily food - Drink water (13 glasses of water / 3-4 liters per day.) (No kidding.) - Consume more fruits (no avocados though) and uncooked/ slightly cooked vegetables (Because Vitamins are best served in fresh foods.) - Change your pillow case every two weeks if not every week. - Wash your face at least twice a day with oil free cleansers and apply a moisturizer that contains Salicylic acid in it (shouldnt contain oil and avoid Vaseline). We don't have much choices on face cleansers in Ethiopia but if you ask around you might find a few and if you are lucky, you might find one that works for you but if not, Original dove soap is always available. - Exfoliate. Dead skins gotta go. - Avoid touching your face. Just don't touch it. Don't squeeze either. - Don't stress (this sounds dumb. I mean, who doesn't feel stressed out these days). Get enough sleep (you are prolly saying Duh). Afternoon naps are gainful. And exercise (your pores will open to let sweat out. That sweat gotta go. And when the sweat gotta go you have to give your body more water haha) - Pay attention to your shampoos, conditioners, and hair oils. (Is your skin okay with them?) (And try not to get them on your face when you wash your hair.) - Face steam once a week or once every two weeks. (Google how to have a face steam at home.) - Rice water (You can google how to prepare a rice water but its like literally rice in water. Wash your rice, put it in a glass jar, add water, seal it and keep it in a fridge for 24-48 hours. Then apply it with a swab every night (keep it on your face for 15-30 mins) then wash your face.) The non-basic ones/ dermatological therapy interference (You have to see a doctor first tho) - Acne vulgaris can be comedonal, mild, moderate, and severe. - Topical medications could be enough fro Mild Acnes. Moderate Acnes require additional Oral medication (Antibiotics like Doxycycline or Tetracycline (this one is unpopular on the market and even in the medical guidelines) or Azithromycine or Cloxacilline. - Severe Acnes require sophisticated Antibiotics or other classes of medications like Alsosterone Antagonists or Combined oral Contraceptive pills. - You might have to take the medications from weeks to a couple of months (according to the physician). But the struggle is, Acne Vulgaris might relapse when you stop using the medications. And its important to be persistent about your life changes even after stopping your medical therapy. It usually wearies off with age and sometimes. So yeah, follow the basics first and see if they help. If not, go see a doctor (still keeping the basics going). Acne needs time and persistence and care. But we usually try things for a week and give up. βπ»οΈ P.s.: Your insecurity is understandable. But think it this way, the more you feel insecure when u go out, the more stressed out you would be and the more stressed out you get, the more the "Acnes". How about you take this as an opportunity to work on how to give less fucks everyday? (I am sure it wont happen magically but eventually, it could happen.) eventually. I am sure you ll figure it out.
