I'm not a tegaru. But here's my take.
Right now, whether Tegarus support TPLF or not doesn't matter. It shouldn't matter. If you're talking about the extremist Tegaru nationalists in the diaspora using this opportunity to paint Tplfs as the victims, then i can understand, they're hypocrites.Tplf doesn't have power anymore anyways so i don't think this can be a threat. What you shouldn't do is be blinded by those hateful people about the ongoing war genocide on ethnic Tegarus.
Tigray genocide is real. Shabia troops invaded Tigray during the war and are still commiting disgusting crimes on tegaru. Regardless of what they support, even if it's TPLF nobody deserves to face this. You also have to understand Tegarus support TPLF, not because of the crimes they commited on Amharas or other ethnic minorities in Ethiopia, but because they see them as heroes. Just the same way some Ethiopians view Abiy Ahmed.
I don't think any amount of evidence can make people believe this is real if they stick to their side of the story only, but this is real, whether you like it or not. Ethnic Tegarus are being profiled, they're losing their jobs, their bank accounts. And back in Tigray, Shabia is commiting unspeakable crimes on them. You know, our greatest hisotrical and religious places are being destructed and looted, but hate blinded us to believe them.
Even if you don't believe, imagine how it must feel if incase this was really true and they're really facing genocide. Imagine how it must feel to them when their fellow Ethiopians deny it while they're suffering. Maybe it the past, Tegarus were privileged. But they're suffering rn, and it can't be justifyed.
I was talking with a Tegaru family friend. She told me she had access to her cousin in Mekelle, that her relative saw her neighbour being prosecuted infront of her house while she saw him. For absolutely no reason. My cousin also lost one of her female relatives who was trying to flee from prosecution and was later caught. She still hasn't heard from her other relatives yet and it scares her sm. Imagine how it must have felt to her if i dismissed all of it? Tegarus are Ethiopians too. They're humans too. Hulum Tigre leba, junta new mimeslih?
