So i have a question for oromos. 1st I would like to state that im not amhara. So iv seen many oromos hating on amhara people. When u ask them the reason they say that “ amhara people love minilik and minilik has killed oromos so if they don’t stop admiring him, we will keep the hate”. My question is 1st oromos blame everything on minilik but isn’t it true that ras gobena was the rt hand man of minilik? Wasn’t ras gobena responsible for the death, castrations and mutilation of the SNNP? Didn’t he kill millions of southern people? How do u justify that? 2nd wasnt minilik himself half oromo? Wasnt miniliks wife oromo? Werent there oromo fuedal lords at that time? isn’t it true that oromos exercised power within the administration of the country? My 3rd question is that, i know we all know about free speech.and free speech comes with tolerance.i know that our country gives civics courses. And we have learned it a thousand times. In this modern day and age people are allowed to express their opinions freely and whether we like it or not, we will be exposed to different opinions. We might like some opinions and we might hate some. But at the end of the day, those opinions should show us that democracy is working in the right way. So people should express their opinions freely. And we as society should be tolerant of those various ideas and opinions. Otherwise if we lash out and start showing hate then what is the point of democracy and free speech? So shouldnt amharas and Ethiopians be allowed to love minilik without receiving hate? Are you truly justified in your hate and backlash for a simple opinion that people have? If you are truly people of intellect then why is it hard to show tolerance for peoples opinions? 4th. Iv heard oromos say that being amhara is not by blood but by opinion, belief....... like for eg. people who admire the positive accomplishments of the past kings are marked as amhara. People who dont look at a person’s ethnicity but who view people for their own unique identity are marked as amhara. People who are patriotic are marked as amhara. But This are all positive and well respected traits to have. So if the opposite is what satisfies you then do you think that speaks well of you🤔🤔.
