Why is my laptop not even detecting WiFi but connects with my mobile's Hotspot? My phone connects to the wifi and works well. But my PC can't even detect the WiFi let alone connecting and working. It is windows 8.1 Toshiba.
Jan 28, 2021Your computer might not support 5.1 GHZ wifi signals. Many older generation wifi adapters only detect 2.4 GHZ signals. The weird thing is that from what I hear, it doesn't sound like your laptop is THAT old. Did you have Windows 8.1 when your laptop was brand new? Try updating your device drivers. If you have WiFi for a few hours, you don't need to download the entire Driver Pack. Use the online version which is only a few megabytes. Search "Driverpack online" Also, why don't you upgrade to Windows 10? Windows 8 and 8.1 are a nightmare! I'd rather downgrade to Windows 7.

Jan 29, 2021Try this.... Upgrade your windows to 10. Or update the windows 8. I dont think this is a hardware issue cause it connects to your phone...

Jan 29, 2021Download an app called driver pack ( better if you could get it from people because its about 13 GB ) and update all your drivers with it. That should work
