It's sad to see this is what we have come to. Seriously like we are having a genocide happening in the hind sight. I don't mean to belittle the suffering that people are going through and as a fellow human being this is something I find beyond grieving. This question does not act as validation for the genocide but I want to raise it as a side point to look at honestly. We are watching thousands of Amharas being murdered for their ethnic identity and this is especially aggravating and disheartening for anyone from that ethnicity. I have seen other people who share the pain and find it horrendous but the majority don't even care or some even think it's what they deserve mnamn. I have personally been disgusted by this type of thinking, and I think it grows from a lack of understanding that we are all human, but I sincerely asked myself do I feel the same when I see people from my ethnicity being attacked and when I see people from another ethnicity being attacked? Taking an honest deep look into myself I found out that I don't. This made me ponder if I really wanted to give ethnicity more value over humanity. Why should anyone follow or be proud about their ethnicity if it ends up making them view other human beings as less? Why should I be proud of a culture that tells me that I am better because I was born of a specific race? Isn't that what Hitler did? How are we any different from him? I am not talking about a specific ethnic group btw... I have seen the same thing in all that I have come to know of. What do you guys think?
