If you are really more into this and you are Nat science, it is possible to learn Psychiatry. And indeed Psychiatry is more deep and much better than Psychology. Then you can help Psychological patient with it. Plus, Ethiopia has lack of Psychiatrists, so you should learn that. And it is easy to get a job too.

Yes Bro I know that feeling. Btw I am at the same grade as you are... My parents push me to Med. I wanna be a Med student but I never said that in front of my parents. They are sooo pushy. Its like they will do my assignment and take my tests when I go to Med school. In short parents are pushy... They always want you to have a respectable decent Job and Life. You dont wanna be a Med student. Then believe me you'll not bear the stress. I saw some materials they (Med students) learn its super huge. In short Follow your Gut but have an end in mind. Consult professionals... Like phd and Masters students. Maybe its not the best thing to learn psychology on Undergraduate level. Cause of what your brother said. Yes he is he and you are you and his experience may not be yours. But if you choose Psychology you should be ready to everything your brother said to u cause it'll most likely be your problem too. Maybe its better it after you have a decent degree in other field: Engineering, Appplied science. And when you have the work skills and after you finish paying your debt, join Psychological classes and learn. You may not get your dreams now but later you can. And then open your own consultation. Be your own boss and try to help people in need of Psychological support. What ever you do, have an end in mind. The end will justify the means. Yes there will be problems. Peoples here see Psychological consult as something that only crazy people go to but its not. There are tremendous amount of challenge you'll face but if you are strong enough to start the process, you'll be there. Even if it feels like it's late, it is not.

Its nice you are passionate about it but like your brother said its kinda hard to get a job by it. You can do your BA by something or even on psychiatry if you are a natural student then you can do your MA by specifying one of the psychology fields after that you can do your PhD too. Try to know why you are passionate about it and is it worthy at this time for you? (Think about it without being emotional) you don't do things because you are passionate about them there is more so look another perspectives, filter your emotions it will be easy.

If you are not passionate about medicine please don't do it. The reason why so many mistakes are being made in hospitals is because a lot of people get into the field to please their families which results in them being careless. If you are a natural science student psychology isn't an option for you. The closest thing to it is psychiatry or you can switch into social science once you take the exam that is if the MoE is still doing that. If you are truly sure of what you want then you have to find a way to make it work and if you really have what it takes there are always scholarships that provide better opportunities. Good luck
