I have been lost from biology for a while but i had this bugging question There are so called memory cells that can remember what virus and bacteria we were attacked with to prevent future attacks with the same species aaaaaa? so i was wondering why it is not possible to share those memory cells from one species to another for eg. if my body produced some memory cell for a disease why is there still no way of sharing my defence for other humans?

Dec 13, 2019Actually we share the protein (immunoglobulins, interferons) this cells produce in treating varies disease from humans and animals who have them. TAT , prophylaxis for tetanus is purified immunoglobulin form horses IMG and IFN for HepB infection When we see about the memory b cells:- it is not easy to take the cells out and share directly It is like organ donation. Extracing them(the exact memory cells is technically difficult ) keeping them in vitro and multiplying them, keeping them unaffected, transfering them to the host is so costly, difficult to apply in clinical setup so it is lab and reaserch dependant additionaly even if we successed in transfering them to the host Since they are foreign cells they will be attacked by the hosts immune system.

Dec 14, 2019In a way yes although you can't transfer the memory cells you can transfer immunoglobulins( proteins that are produced by Humoral cells to fight of infection)....it's actually a form of therapy like outdated tetnaus shots were horse immunoglobulin
