Imagine this: You're in ancient times. Life is good and you are a peasant working in his field. Your life is okay. You're young and got your whole life ahead of you. Nothing to worry about, right? At least it's what it seems like. The next day you hear about your neighbor that got impaled by a mere cow. What a sad way to go you say to yourself. You attend his funeral and as his body is being buried you think to yourself "He was so young. He didn't even get to have a chance at marriage." As soon as this happens, other thoughts flood your mind (because it's human nature to overthink). What if that happened to me? What if I was the one being put 6ft under after a stupid and meaningless death? Surely this can't be all there is to life, you think. At this point in time you already worship a deity. Surely my God has plans for us after we die, right? At this point in your chain of thought, you can only go two ways. So you convince yourself and others that there must be a reason we were put on Earth and a plan after we die. Or realize that the time you have on Earth is all that you have. There's nothing beyond. When you think of it more all you really would have is just merely 40 years tops (we had short lifespans) and on to of that, we would be wasting 10 years as children. A short time indeed. So you go down the road that lets you have more peace of mind (and sanity lol). You tell yourself there's an after life and make up reasons as to why you're here like" This is a test to see if we are worthy of heaven" or " The cycle of life(reincarnation)" . So what I want to say is no. Eternal life is a story we made up so we can sleep at nigh. Hope you enjoyed the story lol.
