Jan 03, 2021Day 1: Undergraduate Scholarship ⚡️⚡️The Requirements and the Steps ⚡️⚡️ 1️⃣. What are the basic requirements? 👉High School Transcript: if you’re current grade 12, it’s okay you can send the transcript of 9-11 or 12 first semester. 👉 Standardized Tests: TOEFL and SAT/ACT are the two standardized tests that are needed. Even though SAT/ACT are optional for some colleges, it’s not a bad thing to have them if possible. But TOEFL is not optional. - more about TOEFL go to: ets.org - more about ACT go to: act.org - more about SAT go to: collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat I will talk about Standardized tests on a separate topic 👉 Recommendation Letter: a letter from your high school teacher. 👉 Essays: anyone who wants to get a scholarship better have a good essay because essays are the deal breakers when it comes to decision making. Essay topics are might be different for different applications. 👉 Extracurricular Activities: this are all the things you did in high school. this is not a requirement but it makes your application sexy😂. It can be a club you participated in, a sport team, innovative work, voluntary activities and so on. You might be asked to write an essay on them. 👉 DEADLINES: this is a very important thing when it comes to college applications. Standardized tests have their own application deadlines and also Colleges have their own deadlines (mostly December 31 for fall admission) 2️⃣. What are the steps? 👉 COLLEGE SEARCH: on your application process identifying colleges that best fits your needs is really important. Make sure you have at least 5 colleges in mind that you’ll apply for. You can apply to as many colleges as you want but considering how much time it takes to complete an application it’s not a good idea to do so. Rather, have a specific number of colleges in mind and work deeply on them. 🦢. One basic thing to mention here would be APPLICATION FEES: some colleges require some fee for applying but you can always ask them for application fee wavier by telling you are unable to pay to b/c of the banking system in Ethiopia bla bla... ⭐️⭐️ IMPORTANT ⭐️⭐️ Always plan ahead and know the documents and requirements to apply for your program. next steps would be what happens after you get admission and scholarship I will cover that tomorrow @bliss_scholarship @bliss_scholarship Contact: @bliss_xyz
