Is diamond black from the origin(before it goes to industry)
Dec 03, 2019Yes and No, diamond comes in different colours shapes and sizes and black diamond (also known as carbonado) one form of natural diamond (the toughest of all). It's cheaper than the other forms of diamonds because it's impure (consisting of diamond, graphite and amorphous carbon), doesn't refract light very well, and ehm... racism π . But natural black diamonds have become increasingly popular due to black stars (like Rihanna) wearing them and showing them off. Back to my point, perfectly pure diamonds are colourless. But diamonds can come in different colours. ( Black, blue, green, pink etc) And each colour tells about the impurities whether it's other element (Blue, pink) or if it's carbon itself, albiet not crystallized (Black, grey, green). I hope I didn't confuse you with all of this useless info ππ
