Dec 13, 2020Hi, ik this wasn't what you asked for exactly but I want to give you advice. I used to want to learn psychology too but the degree itself esp with just a bachelor's has veryyyy little jobs so I decided to go to the medicine route so that I could specialize in psychiatry one day. This is a good option if u have a very good work ethic and are more interested in the clinical aspects of the human psyche. I realized that this path overall didn't go with my life plan so im dropping out. Now about the job thing, it really is a big issue with psychology majors everywhere in the world but here especially because we dont have the infrastructure. Ik of someone who couldn't get a job in psych for 5 years before he gave up and went into marketing. Ena I want you to ask yourself why exactly you want to learn psychology? Is it learning for the sake of learning bc its interesting or do you 100% want to work only in that field? If its the 2nd, I hope you know a majority of the jobs are counseling & teaching & they almost all go to PhD grads first (counseling & teaching) then masters grads (teaching). So you better be ready for all those years of schooling kahunu and have your priorities set. If its the 1st one, I suggest you pursue a field you find easy and flexible then take online psychology courses mnamin (MIT used to offer free classes for example). This way you'll have a lot of the knowledge but still have ample job opportunities. Sorry for the long message and best of luck!
