Why is not liking the green yellow red flag considered as Anti - Ethiopian? After all, it's not like all Ethiopians discussed and agreed to make it a national flag. So isn't it a democratic right not to like it or stand behind it? Just like many people don't support the constitution.

So let's clear it Rationally, if you've seen many European countries, for instance take France... Were under a very bourgeois and feudalistic system until the dawn of the 19th century, but as we all know when they started one of the greatest revolutions man kind have ever seen AKA 'The great French Revolution' they were still using the same flag. The flag represents the people. History doesn't have one good side only. So on the flag, the scars the people have passed through for hundreds, if not for thousands, of years is carved on. We call the ups and downs history, not only just the ups. So personally, you've the right to hate the current flag. But as I've noticed here, your reasoning is quite flawed. Our flag, like the Frenchs have very big significance to us. The only flag which has not been under the feet of Europeans were the Ethiopian flag, so it's not only the indication of peoples scars, struggles and oppressions during the feudals era, but it's also the only sign which shows how blacks can stand proudly in front of whites. And you also said there were many flags people were fighting for and Sth like that... But I tell you what, you're very wrong, if you don't know history just try to read. Don't just insult people (I know sometimes they're very annoying) without fully informed argument yourself. Also don't think that Amharas were oppressing other ethniy groups, they too were the main victims of feudalistic bastards. Dec 05, 2020Adwa is a sign of our unity and I do believe we should hold onto it because it's a pillar for the continuation of the state. However, in the process of creation - as one person commented here - there were atrocities by all sides. So if some people choose to praise those who have created the state by way of force and massacres for the sake if unity that is ignobility. But I don't believe in that. I will not stand up and clap for leaders of whatever ethnicity (because it's not just Menilik I am referring to there were also people under him with multiple ethnicities that were killing people of their ethnicities). It was a system and I oppose all that were part of the oppressive system. I'm not against a race or it's people. I'm against a system that roamed and all it's personifications.
