I have a major question How many of you believe a culture can have it's bad sides? I'm sure most of us would agree that all cultures have bad sides (lemme guess first thing that came to mind is fgm or child marriage etc although I'm not saying these are not bad I'm not talking about these things in general.) Anyways my question is don't you think there are some bad cultures in each and every culture we have? If so then should these bad sides of cultures be left as they are and not raised for the sake of political correctness or should we as a nation be challenging these things? I'm asking cause lots of people live under the illusion that the culture they came from is perfect, although they might not say it out loud.

Culture come from some scenario. There was this research done in Latin america. The people in that area use to drop half of a chicken becuase it was their culture.rhe researcher found out that 500 years ago their was a disease that caused the stomach of chickens poisoned for human consumption. The people still do it believe it is just culture. In Ethiopia we also have a 100 year old custom ( hedar yetaten) burning trash it had a purpose at the Time not it may not be functional. Considering cultures I agree absolutely with what you say we should look in to them and have some conversation but change or removing them may not be advancing as well it meight be losing your identity, just a bit by bit at the end we meight not be where we hoped to be.

Ofc we need to start to face and accept those cultures. But since we have get used to it i don't think it will be easy

I don't think it's perfect. But i do think it represents the very human nature of us all the good and the bad. And i do think we're challenging our culture but not always in a good way. Cause we are not just challenging the bad things in our culture but the good ones that brought us harmony and that social contract to coexist together.

I do believe that there are always some bad sides in all cultures and that we as a nation should speak up about them. But, most of our society is not willing to talk about these things because of shame and the unwavering beliefs that what that culture represents is right. And I genuinely hope one day someone will talk about it.
