Well one thing I started recognizing now a days is that we humans totally forget about death & this world is a temporary place to stay. That's the problem. Being human must be the reason to be proud of nothing else.

It's a difficult question I think. Not trynna downplay patriotism but being proud of your ethnicity/race/nation is kind of like being proud of supporting a certain football club to me. It's a source of social validation or the opposite depending on the situation. So when your football team loses, you get bummed knowing that it doesnt even affect you in any way, nor have you been in control of the outcome of the game. But when they win you get a feeling of accomplishment, victory and pride, even though you still never had control of the outcome. You've attached yourself to something you arent in control of. But when it comes to race or ethnicity you dont have a choice, you're gonna have to support your "football team" (race) no matter what. It's not like you can change teams after a while. Making the attachment to it so much stronger, the pride bigger, and the hatred to anything that even slightly differs from it bigger as well.
