Does the language we speak influence our understanding of the world and its people? Like do people who speak Arabic perceive the world the same way Amharic speakers do?
Oct 31, 2020I once saw a documentary on the aspects of Spanish and English languages. It was about how one of them focus on the doer and the other focus on action. For instance; if you see photo of a man standing near a broken glass, how would you explain it to another person? In English you'll say "the glass is broken". But in Spanish you say "the man broke the glass". I don't know if it relates well with your question. I just thought I'd share what I know.
