I love software engineering..always have been interested mnamn, plus ik some languages too, emokralew....but I also love natural science and maths😊...so the question is should I do the programming part side by side and learn other engineering for degree OR major in SE neglecting all the other stuffs I do love as well 🤔
Oct 17, 2019To be a great programmer u need a good math skill(it teaches u how to solve problems with a computer algorithm)...matter of fact most programing prodigies in the world have a bsc in math....and programming is not a kind of staff u learn all at once ,its more of what u can exercise every day and self thought programmers are way better than those who take it as a course ....so my advice is go for math and exercise programming every day side by side...i assure u will be the code master in no time...besides there is lots of courses that u can learn online way better than the formal education.... good luck!!
Oct 18, 2019If you are good with numbers go with Computer Science, not sw. Software is mostly about the technical part like the documentation process for a software product dont get me wrong you'll learn about coding and stuff too. If you go with computer Science you will have a lot area to specialize with and tons of maths problems starting with statistics, numerics integration ....to graphical mathematics. You might learn some of the courses in sw too, but its more detailed in computer Science In addition to that, cs allows you to specialize in different areas, if you are a sw graduate you can only specialize on sw only no security, Ai, data mining.... if you are specializing in certain areas its best if you join computer science. Google this shit you'll find a lot more detailed answers from different perspectives this is my personal opinion
Oct 18, 2019I think you should focus on software engineering. Software engineering is not just about programming it's much more than that. You will learn Data Structures and Algorithm, OOP, Database Systems, system architecture.... But the one thing that's you will find in learning SE is people who have the same interest as you. If you're in grade 12, I would recommend you to get in to ASTU and join Computer Science and Engineering. You'd love it there.
Oct 18, 2019From personal experience....it's being hard to persue your dream in ethiopia after graduation, especially if u don't have connections. So what I can tell u is to learn what u love as a major and the rest as side b***h😉...then u will be more opportunistic?? .. through u will be able to work on what u want
Oct 19, 2019There is a field called electrical and computer engineering its betam great field ena u can be both in maths and programing and u u will be able to solve both hardware circuit mnamn ena software demo u can develop programing using tutorials online I am doing it zat way😊
