There are many great books on this topic! Here are 5 of my favorites: Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman - Teaches us about cognitive biases and why people act irrationally. The Righteous Mind by Jonathon Haidt- How emotions cloud people’s judgment and how to appeal to them. The Gifts of Imperfection by Brene Brown - How insecurity affects the way people act. Many people aren’t evil but are defensive. Sapiens by Yuval Noah Hariri - The power of storytelling in making people believe something. Talking to Strangers by Malcolm Gladwell - How we are awful at reading people but think we are good.

In fact, hypnotism is real enough! Most detectives in the US use it for extracting information from a subject. I can recommend you a book if you are passionate about it: Sydney Sheldon's Memories of midnight and Michael Connelly's The poet. Both are novels btw
