Before taking measures to increase domestic production, something has to be done at our societies' mind. The people prefer fake item with known brand mark than quality Ethiopian product. This is because some people don't understand qualities and others think all Ethiopian products are trash. I know entrepreneur who producing socks in Ethiopia but it is limited to Addis and no regional sales is present even it is little known in Addis. This is due to lack of promotion and govt support. how many of us know there is Anbessa chama and use it and is it readily available? Just?? To decrease exports govt has to identify quality Ethiopian products and recommend people to use it and has to encourage entrepreneur who engage in producing new items.
