*Afan oromo is very different from semetic languages like geez, amharic, tigrigna....so geez letters can't fully accommodate all the sounds in afan oromo(sounds like 'dh') *Plus there's gemination(yekalat metbekena melalat betam lewt yametal) that's why there are so many double letters. Be geez bihon betam yaschegral. *Geez has also been attempted gn it wasn't that effective in expressing the language fully. * there was also an indigenous oromo script called the Sapalo script created by Sheikh Bakri Sapalo(Abubakar Usman Garad) an oromo scholar, poet and religious teacher it was also attempted but wasn't effective.
