So I’m a 3rd child i have tow older siblings and one younger one due to some stuff all of them are unemployed were all grownups all above 25 btw and for the past two years i was supporting my family tnx to Hod we have our own house but i also used to pay for our house rent and in Addis you might guess how much that is so now I’m paying all the bills my parents medical bill and medicine etc giving my siblings pocket money and i work long hours I’m great full that I could provide for my family but am i in the wrong if i ask my siblings to step up? To make it clear the younger one neither goes to school or works one of my siblings couldn’t find a job and the other one does some side hustles not a full time job so I’m getting frustrated i was hoping they would see I’m struggling and offer to help in any way but that didn’t happening so what should i do
Feb 04, 2026If by stepping up you mean taking on responsibilities to help out the family, then I don't think you're in the wrong. What you're doing is incredible, supporting the entire family. But as a child of the family, you didn't sign up for this and you may not have been prepared for this so it's ok to ask that. If your siblings become capable of helping your family then they should, it's the right thing to do. And caring for others before yourself is good but don't forget to think for yourself
