My take Do we need a port? Hell Yeah we need it, it's useful, it's much better than being a landlocked, but at what cost? Look there are many European landlocked countries that are developed (Austria, Switzerland etc) beacuse they have strong regional trade network, and there most African and Asian countries with access to ports but are underdeveloped (Mozambique, Bangladesh etc) Thinking having access to a port is a get to heaven is a wrong assumption, that's why I argue trying to get a port by starting a war will weaken our economy even more We should discuss and trade something to get a port, so all parties can benefit from it, but taking it with force will have it's own consequence on millions of lives and generations to come. Would prosperity win a war against Eritrea and Tigray? I don't know if you remember, but who won the last civil war we had? Nobody, sure Abiy and Getachew shake hands and call it a day, but man the consequence has strike every Ethiopian. It lead to another way with Fano, people are still starving due to the war ( mainly in Tigray and Amhara regions), our economy is inflated, we still can't go at all corners of the country and back safely no matter who you're, millions are dead, thousands are raped, the PTSD another big issue. No matter who fights this war, nobody is gonna win. At the end of the day we all should say no to wars, conflicts, and for gods sake stop being a puppet to this dumb politician, you're better and bigger than them.
