So my friend is a Muslim, and her father, who’s an (Islamic teacher), told her that psychology as a subject includes things like astrology, zodiac signs, and even some things that could be connected to witchcraft or spiritual practices. She really wants to study psychology, but she’s worried it might go against her beliefs. For people who study psychology — is that true? Does psychology actually teach those things, or are they separate? And if there are some topics like that, can a Muslim student just skip or avoid them?
