Hey folks, I’ve been using Ethio Telecom’s unlimited data (7,200 birr for 2 years). Now it jumped to 15,000 birr. I average 30–45GB/month, so unlimited might be overkill. I found these options: 1. Ethio 100GB/month for 907 birr + 396 birr for extensions = 5,212 birr/year 2. Safaricom 1TB/year for 7,500 birr (needs business license) 3. Ethio unlimited yearly for 9,999 birr Which one is more cost-effective for my usage? Any experiences?

Oct 05, 2025What I’d choose if I were you (in your usage bracket) Given your 30–45 GB/month usage (which is “heavy but not extreme”): I’d lean toward the Ethio 100 GB/month plan + extensions, IF: 1. You don’t often exceed 100 GB by too much month to month. 2. The extension cost is not too punishing (i.e. extra GB costs aren’t sky-high). 3. The speeds stay good and there’s no massive throttling after crossing a “fair usage” threshold.
