Any doctor around here , kindly answer So my mom have been taking her telmisartan medicine for so long the one used to lower her blood pressure and recently she had a headache and decided to go to a doctor and he said ( she also takes her thyroxine medication at the same time as the other one ) that she should take one at day time and one at night so there won’t be too much pressure on her kidneys but now she has had headaches for 3 days straight so please tell me if this serious
Sep 18, 2025Ok am cardiologist in Addis ababa girum hospital here is the medical advice for ur Your mom takes telmisartan for blood pressure and thyroxine for her thyroid. Usually, those two don’t clash badly, but the doctor told her to take them at different times just to ease the load on her kidneys. That’s fine. Now, the main thing is her headache lasting 3 days straight. In someone with blood pressure issues, that can mean: Her pressure is running too high or sometimes even too low from the meds.It could also be something simple like stress, tiredness, or thyroid being off-balance. But here’s the safe rule: If blood pressure isn’t checked, you’re guessing in the dark. If it’s very high or very low, the headache makes sense. She should check her blood pressure at home or at a pharmacy. If the numbers are way off or if the headache feels really bad (with dizziness, vision changes, chest pain, weakness), she needs to see a doctor right away. If it’s just a steady headache with no scary symptoms, still better to see her doctor soon to adjust her medication. So casually: It’s not automatically dangerous, but 3 days of headache with blood pressure history isn’t something to ignore. Best is to check her BP today and see a doctor soon.
