They care for you, they understand your pain, they don't wait for you to tell them and to beg to them to care. That's literally the bare minimum. Let's come to your so called "Boyfriend" he doesn't give a fuck and we're having a conversation about that. What happens when you're married, you give birth? What happens if you get sick? Period is literally shit that happens every month. If a Guy you call " boyfriend" doesn't care and you HAVE to make him care, it says a lot about him and about you. He doesn't care and you're standard is super low. Caring for sick people is a basic human decency. And i hope you understand that
