What Happens When Beauty Becomes a Burden? Have you ever let your attractiveness become your entire personality? Like it literally drained your soul? When even a small pimple ruins your whole day—you feel depressed, ugly, like your worth just disappeared? You do everything you can to maintain it, just constant pressure, effort, and psychological struggle. The mirror becomes your judge, and your image becomes your prison. I grew up in a world that kept telling me I was good looking. All the girls around me wanted to be with me. And I kind of fell off—I gained weight, I’ve got a lot of acne marks now, I don’t even want to talk to girls when they approach me anymore. No advice, just experience
Jul 08, 2025I can relate but in a different way. I'm the exact opposite, unattractive, I hv been mocked a lot cuz of it especially as a kid. It has contributed a lot to my bad communication skills, zero confidence and extreme self-hatred. And I measure my worth by it, which means it disturbs me everyday. The mirror is my enemy, a reminder and display of my image that I hv always hated. I'm obsessed to the point I don't really see the meaning of life anymore. I barely enjoy life. I wish I were dead as an infant. I feel like a monster. I have zero chance in dating or having my own family. I'm pretty sure that I'll die alone. The worst part of obsession with looks/broken self image is that u can never look at life the way other people do. It's like a dark shadow that follows u around. For those who look from the outside it seems simple, pathetic and stupid. Only those who have experienced it know how powerful and controlling it can be. Look at it this way, u r lucky. U hv been blessed by God with good looks, u get praised for something that u got for free. So be grateful about it and appreciate it. No one is perfect. Appreciate what u hv without holding urself to an unrealistic standards.
