This has been quite a challenging question for so many ppl since the start of time but somehow even tho i'm not that smart i havent struggled much against it and/or it hasnt been much of a problem for me.
I think it's the right question which makes it scary cuz right questions are left unanswered only cuz they are difficult and not necessarily cuz they are unanswerable.
I'm actually talking a lot cuz i thought i would better make it a discussion rather than a Q&A session as i also think u've probably been contemplating it for a while. Some of my POVs are a well know philosophical answers but some are of my own philosophy like this first answer.
1. Think in terms of infinity in time. It's like deviding any number by infinitely large number. The product will always be zero regardless of the size of the dividend.
The only time a finite experience (pain, suffering, joy) is going to make sense is when it's unbound by time... Somebody actually answered saying "the real world are heaven and the hell, not earth"... I think the way they put it is not very thought-provoking but it's quite the gist of what i'm tryinna say. Think of it this way.... The pain that an emperor felt in a battle field 5000 yrs ago does not have any contemporary effect on what emperor has become at the present and now multiply that time by a million.
Time is infinite or atleast there is a possibility of infinite time where a constant flow of satisfaction or suffering could possibly be experienced.
2. Inorder for the existance of free will there has to be an imperfect world... Free will by different consciousnesses leads to imperfect choices which lead to an imperfect world... Somebody might argue that the imperfect world has already been there... Well, if we assume there was God then i think it's a good idea that the God doesnt put a consciousness with a free will in a perfect world where he screws up everything and surprises itself, this might answer the child-with-leukimia argument.
3. God is all knowing and we might be too far off the reasoning behind everything.... This argument seems week but every attempt to answer the question actually falls under this as it's just an attempt of Gods reasoning behind it.
I will stop here cuz of the word limit per answer.
