This is what I hate about silly comments made by people. They put this expectations about you in their head and want you to live up to it. Instead of letting you find out who you really are (your true identity) they try to force their preconceived perceptions on you. They don't go the extra step to try and understand who you really are, which may be why you feel alone in the middle of a crowd in the first place. Don't listen to them. Relationship might not be what you need right now.
Try to find your true identity, the "you" that is true, not the "you" you believe you are 😁. There's a difference between what you believe about yourself and what is true about yourself. Try to slowly unpack your beliefs, thoughts and perceptions about you.
This could be hard to do alone tbh, but if you have someone you trust you can let them in to help but if you don't trust them God is always there to help. He is a living God that speaks and we tend to forget that. (Of course I am assuming that you are neither agnostic not atheist when I say this and I believe this is true for all religions 😊).
But in short, take those thoughts that are disturbing you and try to find their cause. For example, why do you feel not pretty?, Why do you hate yourself? Try taking personal quite times and slowly unpack them (with prayer if applicable). Journaling those thoughts is also a good way to get it out of your head and see your thoughts :). Most of the time our thoughts aren't as true as we think they are when we see them from a third person perspective.
Hope that helps :)
