Do you ever reach a point where you realize you genuinely love your family and appreciate everything they’ve done for you, but deep down, you still feel this strong need to leave and build a life of your own? Not because they’re bad or because you don’t care about them, but because you’re craving your own space, your own peace, your own routine, and the feeling that your life finally belongs to you. Sometimes I feel guilty for even thinking this way because I know how much my family does for me, but at the same time, I’m scared of staying comfortable for too long and waking up years later realizing I never really built a life of my own. Have you ever felt that kind of conflict?
Sep 21, 2026The way you see your parents is problematic. You talk about them like you own them something and like they did you a favor by... taking responsibility for the person they themselves decided to bring in the first place. A lot of people don't love their parents. They're attached, guilt ridden and fear. But they use "love" to describe those feelings. You have nothing to repay for, what they did is called duty. So, yes please start living your own life.
