Hey lovely people. If you’re anyone who’s had any mental health struggles please read this. I moved to the US for my studies years ago and i’m graduating with a psychology degree. My dream is to make mental health more accessible and less stigmatized in our community and i’m interested in researching how our community deals with these issues to better provide support. I’ve experienced first hand how our society invalidates, shames, and disregards mental health issues. For those of you living in Ethiopia, have you found any professional support like therapy, counseling, or medications? what are some of the barriers you’re facing regarding getting support? are people more open to hearing you out or is it still hostile? what do you think would help you feel more supported?
Aug 18, 2026I need a therapy, but I don't know where to find them, afraid of the cost, and I don't think I can trust them enough to open up even if I get the chance.
