Hey chrsitians, how do you reconcile belief in an all-good, perfectly just God with some of the things God is described as doing or threatening? Eg: Exodus 20:5 “For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generations of those who hate me.” Eg: Leviticus 26:29 “Further, you will eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters you will eat.” I am not taking things out of context here are the chapter and verses check on ur bible if u like If u can't council these then why still believe in this God?
Aug 11, 2026In exodus it's saying your sin consequences can extend to your generation especially if the later generation is also commiting the same sin. It's not to say God feels jealousy rather to mean, "don't worship other when you belong to me" bible also says - Ezekiel 18:20: “The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father…”
