The correct hadith, reported in Sahih Muslim and others, mentions pre-seminal fluid (madhy), not semen (maniy). Madhy is a clear, thin fluid, and scholars have discussed its ruling in detail.
Scholarly Clarification:
Scholars like Imam Nawawi have clarified this issue—that the Prophet ﷺ would clean his clothes from any impurity (including madhy) before praying. And when Aisha (RA) mentioned rubbing it off, it was a form of purification at that time, considering the limited resources (no washing machines, etc.).
No Impurity in Character:
The Prophet ﷺ’s personal cleanliness and high moral standards are well-documented. Even non-Muslim historians like Karen Armstrong and Michael Hart praised his character. One misquoted narration doesn’t change the overwhelming evidence of his noble life.
so usualyy
When people ask this, it’s often not to learn but to mock. The same people ignore far more explicit stories in the Bible about prophets, yet feel bold enough to attack Islam based on a misunderstood narration.
