Humans put bigger value on social interaction meaning in the past like 100k yrs ago people need to trust each other in a society and recognition only comes with trust and usefulness so we always have it in our gene the urge to get accepted and go up the social hierarchy now social medias offer that. The more ppl follow you the more you feel good abt ur self Chasing likes and so on. Am not a user of any social media And i think u r not too. That doesn't mean we are not shallow like anyone who craves the ig life or the glamor it gives u we just have a different way of ranking ourselves in the social hierarchy.
