Past 12 graders, is matric as hard as everyone makes it to be ? Or is there a chance for a medium level student to pass

Jun 14, 2026one of the reason for low percentage of passing is English. most students in Ethiopia aren't exactly fluent and the two subjects English and sat are easy mark for someone who understands English very well. so it depends on what kind of student you're talking cause if average students were to pass, the passing rate wouldn't have been that low so no.
Jun 13, 2026(edited)it's hard to pass if you didn't learn in private school or didn't take education seriously. and as the previous commenter mentioned English also plays a crucial part. and for your question there is no reason for medium student to not pass if he/she prepares well it's not really that hard of an exam.
Jun 13, 2026it's very easier than model exam

Jun 13, 2026The exam has rather become easier, the reason most fail is the new regulation on copying. You will do fine if your english is good and you have some prep. Dont panic and dont rush.
