Could anyone share their experiences with online jobs? I am about to graduate and am interested in platforms like Upwork and Fiverr. Do these websites function well in Ethiopia? I would greatly appreciate your assistance. Thank you!
Feb 16, 2025A friendly advice here: Yes Upwork and Fiver work here in Ethiopia. You can find jobs by your skills and earn significant amount of money per month, per project or per year but this comes through hard work and skill development. Its quite challenging to breakthrough nowadays especially if you don't have a portfolio to begin with so i recommend you - To build your portfolio until you graduate - Learn client management and proposal writing skills - Then, mindset is the key because freelancing needs dedication. After gradation i recommend you to look for a local job atleast to sustain for some time. Freelancing takes time to be real source of income and until you build your freelancing profile and make a living out of it, consider local things atleast those who will give you time freedom. Good luck!

They don't work that much unless you are already an established creator with a lot in your portfolio, so start with some challenge projects to show your skills, and try using tiktok and instagram to promot your works, after that you can attract clients and grow your business
