Sincerely speaking if the ongoing problems are wanted to be solved by anyone, it should be noted and clearly written in our history that Menelik II killed and displaced so many Oromos, especially Arsi, Hararghe, and Shewa/Tulama Oromos. Killings in Arsi and Hararghe, forced displacements of Shewa/Tulama Oromos to Arsi, Bale, Guji and Borena areas should be clearly and boldly written in Ethiopia's history. Hiding this truth will get us all nowhere since there are millions of Tulama Oromos living in Arsi, Bale, Guji and Borena today, and these people can be living witnesses. And for those who always say Menelik didn't kill any Oromo, I can only say you're lying in daylight. Let alone Menelik who was expansionist, Meles Zenawi and Abiy Ahmed who are considered modern day and elected by people rulers have killed many. Oromo never hides that the Abiy system killed many people, but why would you? All in all, the history and narratives should at least be corrected, not even talking about it to be immaculate. All what Menelik and other rulers did should be written --- not only their good deeds but also their bad sides. For Oromos, we should accept that Menelik and others like Hailesellasie had ruled us but never praise, worship, or whatever them like others do. And we should never try to retaliate the past deeds against other innocent people, yet the some who want to remind us of the pain Menelik have inflicted upon our ancestors must be punished by anyone like Germans punishing neo-Adolf Hitler chauvinists. In short, history should be written and taught for the sake of history itself not politics.
