As i understood, you're saying we're different from other Orthodox churches right?
I'd like to clarify first of all that abune Teklehaymanot was an Ethiopian, and btw Copts celebrate him too, if your question is about our saints then the thing is, every church in a country have their own saints they celebrate, there are literally millions of saints since the beginning, until today, and you can't just expect every country to celebrate every saint.
Also from what you wrote, im assuming you have a really shallow knowledge about the church, not that i know so much but this can't be somethung worth attention.
Maybe you're doubting the church because of the sir'at, our kidase, our laws and everything. Yes Ethiopian and Eritrean Orthodox churches are more constructed than the other churches. They are the only countries who have been following Judaism, and this affects our current sir'ats very much, and infact in a good way. For example, unlike anyother church they have ark of covenants(tabot), the church designed are well thought out, each and everything representing and preaching God.
Also our liturgy (kidase) is different too, we have rules for the hymns; we use different zema for different time of the year (Geez, Ezil, Araray), the mass has a role in the kidase, the actions of the priests and deacons in the middle of kidase represent something, the way the deacons and priests dress depending on their hierarchy level represents something, what the mass is told to do in the middle of liturgy represent something, every thing done there have purposes and meanings.
Other churches to some exten have those qualities too, but not as much as the EOTC.
And these things shouldn't ashame you or tire you. These things are something you should be proud of.
