I have two choices: I can use 300,000 birr to start a business now or wait five months to save up to 800,000. But if I wait, I’d have to work hard on a farm, planting onions or something similar. I want to make money from farming after graduating from university, but I worry that people might think I’m farming just because I couldn’t find a job, which isn’t true. I want to make money quickly so I can help my mom. If I wait for the larger amount, I’d have to depend on her for food during that time, which doesn’t sit well with me since she’s put in so much hard work but is now getting older and having a hard time. The tough part about starting a business now with the 300,000 birr is that I’m not sure what kind of venture would be profitable and bring in money fast enough to support us.
Jan 05, 2025Are you saying u can make pure 100k per month without going into another new venture? If I was in your position, I would keep working on the farm to get more money, even more than 800k if I can, because it is better and easier to build a business with 800k rather than 300k. Ena demo if it's possible to increase your monthly income working at the farm. I think it's better to keep working there, and accumulate more money.
