I can't believe this is a issue in your house. It supposed to be a family and they should tell you that humans are humans no matter their ethnic. Let me tell you about my family my mother is Oromo my father is Amhara but ethnic is not issue in our home. We just respect each other if Oromo make a mistake my mother ask why and she care about the people and if Amhara peoples do awful thing my father is not keep his mouth because he is Amhara he speek to all Amhara peoples make a mistake. You don't have to choose any side just support humanity ok because that makes you happy.
