Hernia in general is when the abdominal contents (most commonly the intestine) protrude throgh the softest spot of the abdominal wall. Inguinal hernia is when this happen around the femoral area (በአማርኛው ብሽሽት የሚባለው አካባቢ). There are 2 types of inguinal hernia Direct and indirect. The direct one is when the abdominal contents protrude directly through the abdominal muscles. It is common in older ppl with increased intra-abdominal pressure like chronic coughers (ረጅም ጊዜ የቆየ ሳል ያለባቸው) or ppl with BPH due to straining during urination. The indirect one is common in young adults and it's when the abdominal contents protrude through the inguinal canals (the canals where the spermatic cord and the inguinal nerve and other structures go to the testis) this canals have rings. So abdominal contents can sometimes protrude throgh those to the scrotum. The exacerbating factors are heavg weight lifting or chronic cough or other conditions that cause straining and increased intra-abdominal pressure. The complications include intestinal obstruction (የአንጀት መታጠፍ) secondary to incarceration (አንጀት በቀለበቱ ውስጥ ታንቆ ሲቀር) or strangulation (የተቀረቀረው የአንጀት ክፍል የደም ዝውውር ሲያጣ) In summary, the inguinal hernia is not a problem per se especially in children and adolescents the rings get stronger as they grow up and it will correct by itself and can be corrected by simple surgery(not minor surgery though). But if it's left untreated complications might occur which can only be treated by major abdominal surgery. This is hernia in short. If u hv any qns u r welcome.
